Currently engaged as the Director of the Orozbay Fund in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
I recently presented a paper at a symposium on American Studies in Naryn, Kg, at the University of Naryn. (May 14, 2011) a pdf copy of that paper and its bibliography are available here. I discussed the role of philanthropy, charity and voluntary action in American experience.

Orozbay Fund offers assistance to the people of Kyrgyzstan whose income levels do not allow the payment of fees that allow their children to attend school, will work with institutional settings to provide resources like textbooks and supplies, and with other organizations with allied goals and intent. We also offer small grants to teachers and teacher organizations to improve teacher training and competencies.
Previously, I taught Adult Formation topics at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Houston. Also I am following an old impulse to do photography, and to create short films on meditative and other topics.
My latest photography sessions are concentrating on my life in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, as I learn about my neighborhood, the city of Bishkek, and the country of Kyrgyzstan. You can view the photo essays on Facebook or on Flickr by selecting the links below.
I currently am teaching classes in English in Bishkek at SECOM Language School. My undergraduate degree is in English and Media Studies, and I have taught in many settings, including high school, elementary schools, and adult learning settings.
